Our renovated cabin is just a short ride from Custer. Here you will find seclusion but will be close to everything the Black Hills offers. The cabin has recently updated fiber optic internet, TV, and Roku for work and entertainment. Linens are provided and there is the convenience of a washer and dryer. In the well-equipped kitchen, prepare meals to enjoy while relaxing on the deck or in front of the campfire. This is a great landing spot after a full day of activities! - No pets or smokers - Convenient to all of the area attractions and activities: (distance and times are approximate) Mickelson trail is about 2 miles from the cabin. The trail is over 100 miles long and great for biking, hiking and running. Custer State Park - 10 minutes - This is one of the largest State Parks in the US. It also has the largest free roaming buffalo herds in the U.S.. You can also see elk, deer, "friendly" burros and wild turkeys. Swimming, fishing, boating, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, etc. Crazy Horse Memorial - 15 minutes Mt. Rushmore - 30 minutes Hill City - 25 minutes (you can ride the 1880's train to Keystone) restaurants and shops Keystone - near Mt. Rushmore with restaurants and shops Deadwood - 1 hour 15 minutes (casinos and entertainment) Sturgis - 1 hour 25 minutes Wind Cave National Park and Jewel Cave National Monument - 15-20 minutes (both have tours and spelunking). Swimming, boating and fishing is available at Sylvan, Legion, Stockade and Bismark Golf - there is a local course in Custer and one in Hot Springs about 35 minutes away. We have local caretakers that are available to address and questions or concerns. The cabin is situated along the National Forest and is approximately 2 miles off of the main road to Custer. The small road that leads to the cabin is a combination of gravel and dirt. There are several houses within the vacinity, but they are far enough away to enjoy you privacy. Our neighbors have a variety of animals including goats and horses. The goats have been known to stray at times!
