Trinco House - van Dyke is a contemporary, newly built beach home in the heart of Trincomalee on Dutch Bay, a few minutes down the road from the central bus stand and business district and steps to attractions like Fort Frederick, Koneswaram temple and the vegetable/fish market. Only 2 hours from cultural triangle Dambulla (Sigiriyi, Pollunuwara) and Minneriya (elephants) with Anuradhapura an hour away. So stay at THvD to take day trips or chill to enjoy beach life. Newly built home, spacious room with a patio on the edge of the beach with panoramic views of Dutch Bay. You will have exclusive access to the whole grounds of the villa including the roof top, pool, balcony, verandah, direct doorway to the beach while having your own private entrance to your bedroom during your stay. Guests will be given a key to their own private entrance to their room enabling them to enter and leave Trinco House as they wish uninterrupted. Dyke Street was mainly a fishing community but in the heart of Trincomalee. Now it is being transformed as the beach activities (dolphin, whale, snorkel, scuba, water sports, etc.) are driving the local economy for visitors from all parts of the island and internationally. Near by Tuk Tuk stand, walking, biking, scooters available to rent near by... Check-in time: 3:00 PM We would be happy to accommodate arrivals as early as 7:00 AM, when available, upon request. Any arrivals earlier than 7:00 AM will be charged 50% of room charges. Early check-in is subject to room availability only and must be requested in advance. Check-out time: 11:00 AM One day before arrival, we will ask guests to provide estimated arrival and departure times so that can best accommodate your needs as well as the needs of our other guests. Linen and Cleaning: We provide fresh bed linens and towels for all guests. We clean the room and bathroom upon request and will change linen and towels every 3 days for long term guests. Laundry: Laundry service (wash & fold) is provided in the nightly rate. IMPORTANT NOTE ON SEASONAL WEATHER: Most of the year Trincomalee is a very hot, dry and sunny destination. In case you didn't already know, please be aware that Sri Lanka's East Coast has a completely separate monsoon season (rainy) to the South / West of the island. The high season on the East Coast is March - October where the sea is calm. The worst of the East Coast monsoon falls between November and January every year. It can't be predicted exactly but the rains usually really set in around mid November and the sunny days begin to return again by Christmas time. While there can be sunny days here and there during the monsoon season, in general during that period the sea and beach conditions are rough. (Low season pricing is set accordingly). All this applies to the entire North East of Sri Lanka of course - we just want to make sure our guests know what to expect throughout the year :)
