If you want to discover real Bali and experience authentic village life among the rice paddies this is the place. Set in a banana grove and surrounded by paddy the bungalow is a newly renovated, charming property, tastefully furnished with bamboo furniture and all conveniences to make your stay a comfortable one. It is located in the traditional, pretty village of Tista Carik, near Kramitan famous for its ceremonies and village life. The bungalow is perfect for a couple and comprises a bedroom with four poster queen size bed, mosquito net, fan, good bedlinen and pillows and opens out onto a Balinese style semi outdoor garden bathroom with hot shower. The kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker, hot and cold water dispenser and large fridge freezer. There is a dining corner in the kitchen with bamboo furniture and also a small terrace with table and chairs. For the afternoon siesta or evening drinks to watch the sunset why not relax on the lumblung padi - a wooden granary used for storing rice with a shady platform with the views of the sacred Batu Karu volcano (inactive) Guests will have the entire property at their disposal. There are a few steps from the road to the front door. Banana Garden is a joint venture between a European couple who spend some time in Bali and who administer the bookings and a delightful Balinese couple who will be responsible for day to day arrangements and support. Ketut, the husband is a teacher of Balinese dance and his wife specialises in costume design and makeup for weddings and ceremonies. They can advise guests of all the ceremonies ( odalan ) in the surrounding villages and explain the deeply rooted Hindu traditions. One son is also a talented dancer and the other a musician. Airport transfers can be arranged using their minivan or through another English speaking drive/guide available for other trips. It is also possible to rent scooters through them. Banana Garden is in the pretty, traditional village of Tista Carik near the larger small town of Kramitan. You will be able to observe the daily life of people and see the workers in the surrounding paddy fields. There is a grocers shop in Tista with English speaking owner who will deliver water and other large items. Kramitan has a market, small supermarket, laundry and several warungs for delicious Balinese food. There are a few for stalls near the market where you can buy take away satay, nasi goreng etc. It takes about 90 minutes to drive from Denpasar International Airport to Banana Garden and transfers can be arranged. For day trips to explore further afield, like nearby Tanah Lot, Mount Batu Karu and its ancient temple, or the north an english speaking driver can be arranged. One vehicle is also available for self drive. Scooters can also be hired through Ketut and Made. A full house manual and local guide will be supplied to all guests when they book.
